John M. Baker, CPIM Overview of Experience:
John has over 20 years of manufacturing and operations management experience in both discrete & repetitive environments. Areas of responsibilities have included Shop Floor Supervision, Purchasing, Materials Management, Project Engineering, Distribution, Costing, and Operations Management. He has additional experience in Sales Forecasting, Budgeting, and Management Reporting. John's industry experience includes Automotive, both with Manufacturers and Suppliers; Plastics, Injection & Blow Molding; and also General Manufacturing companies building items such as Specialized Machinery and Consumer Products sold directly or through distribution channels. John's personal background along with his communication skills and project management experience enables him to successfully interface with all levels throughout the organization. This is the "key" for the successful implementation and continued use of business solutions.

President Responsible for several successful implementations of CA-PRMS ERP software systems. Experienced in education, user training and project management. One area John specializes is Shop Floor Scheduling in both the Discrete and Repetitive environment. John has successfully managed implementations for quick startups and developed specialize training/work instructions to insure user readiness. John has presented results of implementations/ "case studies" at ANAUG including the capstone presentation "Executive Business Performance Scorecard" in 2001; "A Customer use of MPS/MRP" in 2002; and this past year co-presented the "Sunday Session" which "On Line" completed the cycle from establishing; manufacturing; and shipping a product with emphasis on V8.4 - V9.2 enhancements. John's past work experience as a "user" and knowledge of the PRMS database complements the client's resources to create; maintain; and deliver the project's requirements. Until this August, John was previously a Principal Application Consultant at SSA Global Technologies.

Materials Manager Primary responsibilities included overall scheduling and inventory control management from the budgeting/forecasting process through master planning; scheduling; and production. Serve as Project Manager for "PRMS" implementation from legacy system and as the coordinator of MIS activities and resources supporting overall manufacturing operations. Successes included:
- 27% Reduction in working Capital
- Developed strategic forecast/budget plans for operations for $250 million annually
- Monthly/Weekly/Daily scheduling for all area in manufacturing from punch press to final assembly
- Daily Operational Report Production/Sales/Inventory/Fill Rate) showing both Daily/MTD figures to the Business Plan
- Increase Customer Order Fill Rate from mid 50% to over 95%
- Home Depot "Supplier of the Year
Esco Corporation - Covington Kentucky
Materials Manager - Third employee hired in a "Start-Up" operation transferring production from the Mississippi facility to a new facility under construction in Kentucky Responsible for all scheduling, manufacturing, and material control. Major success included bringing the facility on line with staffing, final construction, and the start of production operations on schedule. Results saw an improved delivery performance to the customer, as well as the implementation of the new business software -- "BAMACS".
Miami Carey Monroe Ohio
Materials Manager Responsible for the scheduling, purchasing, and material control of a bathroom cabinet and accessories manufacturer with sales exceeding $50 million annually. Improved scheduling saw a reduction in inventories of $650 thousand dollars in WIP and $1 million dollars in overall inventories. Customer fill rates increased from 92% to 97%.
GA Gray Co. Cincinnati, Ohio
Various Positions from Union Electrician to Materials Manager. First job out of the military where positions increased in duties and responsibilities. As Project Engineer, redesign Subcontracting Policies and Procedures as well as implementing the Costing Module in "MAPICS". As Shop upervisor, direct responsibilities for various departments in a union environment including grinding, machining, and plant maintenance. As Materials Manager, direct control over all purchasing, scheduling, and inventory for a machine tool builder owned by Warner Swasey / Bendix / Allied Chemical. Created successful active model for both labor and material costs for product lines; achieved high cost savings through vendor consolidation and outsourcing, and interfaced personal computers into department activities for better decision making.
John served four years in the United States Marine Corps where he obtained the rank of "Sergeant"
John obtained his BS in Management from Northern Kentucky University in 1983 "Cum Laude" and his MBA from the University of Cincinnati in 1986
John became CPIM certified May 2003
